Done to Spec’s latest project was a shower and bath remodel to a 1989 home on Union Hill in Redmond. The homeowners wanted to make updates to certain parts of their master bath and leave others that had already been updated in the past. The bathroom remodel included a new shower stall, tub deck and surround, granite slab countertops with under-mount sinks, satin nickel plumbing fixtures, matching towel bars and new paint on the walls and woodwork. The shower dimensions were kept the same, although it would have been possible to enlarge it by moving the rear wall of the shower back and utilizing attic space. After tearing out the old shower, a small amount of dry rot was discovered on the wall across from the shower head. Done to Spec installed temporary bracing and replaced the damaged framing. Done to Spec once again used the Kerdi Shower System by Schluter, creating a waterproof barrier between the tile and wood framing. A niche was located in the shower wall for soap and shampoo. A porcelain tile was chosen by the homeowner that was similar in color to the existing floor tile. The new tile had a higher gloss, which created a good contrast with the older matte tile. A 1/4″ frameless glass was used for the shower door and glass partitions. Satin nickel plumbing fixtures by Kohler, were used for the shower, tub and sinks. shower remodelmaster bath remodel
